Currant Soy

Ingredients

  • 5 pound stemmed currants
  • 3 pound brown sugar
  • 1 pint cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper

Directions

  1. Put all in a preserving kettle over a moderate fire; cook three hours from the time the fruit begins to boil.
  2. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
  3. Keep in glass jars.
  4. Excellent with meat.
