Carrot Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1 1/3 cup cold water
  • 1 cup seedless raisins
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • pinch salt
  • 2 cup flour

Directions

  1. Mix spices with sugar, boil for five minutes, with cold water, raisins, shortening, and carrots.
  2. Cool thoroughly.
  3. Add walnuts, flour, salt and soda.
  4. Mix well and bake slowly in pan.
