Beef, Tomato and Cabbage Scallop
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef, or other lean meat
- 2 tablespoon fat
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 1/2 cup fresh or canned (No. 2 can) tomatoes
- 2 teaspoon salt
- pepper
- 4 cup chopped or coarsely shredded cabbage
- 1 cup soft bread crumbs
Directions
- Brown the meat in fat.
- Add onion and celery; cook 5 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper : bring to boiling.
- Place alternating layers of cabbage and meat mixture in a baking dish.
- Top with bread crumbs.
- Bake in a moderately hot oven (375f) 40 to 45 minutes.
