Almond Macaroons

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond paste
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • salt

Directions

  1. Rub paste until smooth, gradually work in the sugar until well mixed.
  2. Add pinch of salt and beat in one egg white at a time, mixing thoroughly.
  3. Let stand for 20 minutes.
  4. Drop teaspoonfuis on lightly buttered baking sheet.
  5. Bake in slow oven (300-f) for 25 or 30 minutes until surface is dry.
  6. Keep in cool place overnight.
