A Delicate Cake
Ingredients
- 1 pound sugar
- 1 pound flour
- 7 ounce butter
- 6 egg whites
- 1/2 grated nutmeg
- a little lemon extract
Directions
- Beat the butter to a cream and stir into it the sugar and flour, then add the whites of eggs beaten to a froth, the grated nutmeg, and the lemon extract.
- Beat all well together and put into a tin lined with buttered paper.
- 5 or 6 ounces of powdered almonds may be added to this cake, according to your taste.
