Molasses Walnut Cookies

Directions

  1. Mix and sift flour, salt, and baking soda; set aside.
  2. Beat shortening until creamy; add sugar gradually; continue beating until light.
  3. Stir in molasses and water.
  4. Add eggs; beat well.
  5. Add flour mixture and nuts to egg mixture: mix well.
  6. Cover; chill 2 hours.
  7. Set oven for hot, 400f.
  8. Drop dough by tablespoons on greased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
