Crumb Cookies

Yield: 4 1/2 dozen, two inches in diameter

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cream shortening.
  2. Add sugar and continue creaming until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift flour, then measure.
  4. Resift with salt, soda and spices, then add the bread crumbs.
  5. Combine molasses and milk, and add alternately with the dry ingredients to the creamed shortening and sugar, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  6. Roll out on slightly floured board.
  7. Cut with cookie cutter.
  8. Place cookies on a greased baking sheet and bake in a slow oven (300f) 15 minutes.
