Directions

  1. Beat the yolks of three eggs with the cup of sugar and the 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and when thoroughly mixed add to pint of milk that has been brought to the boiling point.
  2. Add a pinch of salt and butter the size of a walnut.
  3. Boil the ingredients for about five minutes and then fold in the beaten whites of eggs to the custard and pour into a baked pie shell and let the contents cool.
  4. Before serving whip one-half pint of cream and spread over the top.
